Frequently asked questions
How our experiences work — booking, group sizes, languages, and everything else teams ask us before they book.
About
What is the Human Element?
We're a Barcelona-based studio designing singular experiences for teams, conferences, and strategic programmes for organizations — bridging the humanities and the business world.
Booking
How far in advance should we book?
We recommend 3–4 weeks, since experiences involve coordinating venues and facilitators; some can be arranged faster — ask us.
Do you organize experiences outside Barcelona?
Yes — we operate in Barcelona and Madrid. If your team is elsewhere, get in touch; we're open to discussing it.
Can experiences be delivered virtually?
All talks and select workshops can be delivered virtually. Experiences built around a physical place — gallery visits, walking tours — stay in person.
What languages are the experiences available in?
English, Spanish, and Catalan — most facilitators can run a session in any of the three.
What's included
What's included in an experience?
Every experience includes full logistics (venue, facilitator or speaker), materials, and a pre- and post-experience toolkit to help the team prepare and reflect afterward.
Format
What human skills do your experiences develop?
Creativity, critical thinking, cultural awareness, empathy, collaboration, communication, adaptability, curiosity, and emotional intelligence — each experience is built around a specific set of these.
What is an Innovation Tour?
A guided visit to a major innovation or creativity festival (like Sónar+D or MWC), turning the event into a structured learning experience for your team rather than a walk-through.
Pricing
How much do experiences cost?
Pricing varies by experience — some list a starting price per person, most are quoted per group depending on size and format. Get in touch for a quote.
Is there a minimum spend for corporate bookings?
We do work with a minimum budget, but the price depends on the group size and format, so a session for a small team and an event for the whole company are priced very differently.
Tell us the size of your team and we’ll prepare a tailored proposal for you.
Groups
What's the minimum and maximum group size?
Group sizes vary by experience — some workshops cap around 20–35 participants, others scale to full company events. Check the specific experience page, or ask us for large-group options.
Is this only for large companies?
No — we work with teams of all sizes, from a single department to a company-wide offsite.
Accessibility
Are the experiences accessible for people with reduced mobility?
It depends on the format — workshops and talks at your office are fully accessible; for gallery visits or Innovation Tours at festivals, we confirm the venue's accessibility with you before booking.
Can we request a sign language interpreter?
Yes, on request and with advance notice. We include it without issue in any experience we facilitate ourselves; for Innovation Tours within festivals, this covers our guided portion, not the festival's own talks, which we don't organize.
Do any experiences have flashing lights or loud sound?
Some gallery visits and Innovation Tours at festivals (Sónar+D, MIRA, OFFF) include audiovisual installations or amplified sound. We'll let you know ahead of the visit if this applies, so you can decide with that information.
Which format is the calmest or fully seated?
Talks and workshops at your office are always seated, with no intense lights or sound. It's the most predictable format if that's a priority for your team.
What if someone on the team has a need that isn't covered here?
Write to us with the details before booking and we'll confirm what's possible, experience by experience. We'd rather be upfront about limitations than promise something we can't deliver.
Customization
Can we customize the experience for our team?
Yes. We adjust duration, language, format, and content to your team's goals. Tell us the context and we'll refine the proposal together before confirming the booking.
What add-ons can we add to an experience?
You can add extras like merchandise, networking drinks, breakfasts or meals, special venues, or a photographer to document the event. We quote these on request alongside the experience.
