Dialogue & Ideas,Experience
Barcelona through words: an interactive meeting with a local author
A personal conversation about Barcelona followed by a hands-on writing workshop that invites teams to observe, interpret and express the city in new ways.

A Catalan fiction or non-fiction writer shares their relationship with Barcelona or Catalunya, exploring how places shape memory, identity and belonging. After a short break for informal conversation and networking, participants join a guided creative-writing workshop led by the same author. Through accessible prompts and exercises, they transform personal observations into stories, creating an intimate encounter with local culture and with one another.
Why it matters
-
Creativity
Writing exercises encourage participants to experiment with perspectives, associations and forms of expression. In the workplace, this strengthens the ability to generate original ideas and approach challenges with greater flexibility.
-
Cultural Awareness
The author’s perspective opens a nuanced conversation about Barcelona, Catalunya and the identities connected to them. This helps international teams interpret local contexts with greater sensitivity and work more thoughtfully across cultural differences.
-
Communication
Participants practise expressing an observation or experience clearly, while learning to listen to different interpretations. These skills support more precise, engaging and human communication within teams.
