Experience
Touch the Future: Designing Interactive Experiences | Team Prototyping Workshop
Turn a banana into a piano, and your team into inventors.

What if a banana could play the piano? In teams, participants wire everyday objects to Makey Makey and use Scratch to add sound, animation and interaction. They brainstorm, prototype and present in under two hours. Both tools came from the MIT Media Lab, built to make technology playful for everyone.
Why it matters
-
Creativity
Using a banana or a pencil drawing as a controller makes people see familiar things differently. Innovation at work often starts the same way, by finding new uses for what is already on the table. COLLABORATION: With under two hours to go from idea to demo, teams have to split roles, build on each other's ideas and agree quickly. It works the same way as cross-functional projects, where shared ownership decides the result.
What's included
- A pre-experience toolkit to get ready, get the most out of the workshop and start building the human skills behind it.
- All Makey Makey kits and materials, with a facilitator guiding each team
- A closing showcase where each team presents its interactive prototype
