Experience
Kintsugi, the Japanese Repair Art
Embrace the beauty of imperfection through the Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics with gold.

This workshop introduces you to Kintsugi—the centuries-old Japanese technique of repairing broken pottery by highlighting, rather than hiding, its fractures. Beyond craft, it embodies a profound philosophy: scars are not flaws to erase, but marks of resilience and renewal. Brought directly to your office (max. 20 participants), the experience combines cultural insight with hands-on practice, inviting participants to transform breakage into beauty while reflecting on impermanence, acceptance, and transformation.
Why it matters
-
Empathy
Practicing Kintsugi nurtures sensitivity to imperfection—our own and others’—encouraging compassion and a deeper understanding of human fragility and resilience.
-
Creativity
By reimagining cracks as lines of beauty, participants learn to approach problems with fresh perspectives and embrace inventive, non-linear solutions.
-
Adaptability
Repairing and reshaping a broken object trains the mind to accept change, reframe setbacks, and see possibility where others might see loss.
